- Technical Assistant : 12 posts
- Senior Technical Officer : 02 posts

Age Limit:
Candidates age should be Maximum age 28 years for post 1, 35 Years for post 2, 32 Years for post 3, 45 years for post 4 as on 16.08.2016. The upper age limit is relaxable upto 05(five) years for SC/ST and 03(three) years for OBC as per Government orders in force only.
Educational Qualification:
For Technical Assistant : Candidates should have completed 1st class B. Sc. with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and with one year full time professional qualification or one year experience in operation and maintenance of sophisticated equipments from a recognized institute/organization. Or 1st class Diploma in Electronics/Instrumentation Engineering/ Technology of at least 3 years full time duration or at least 2 years full time duration in case of lateral admission in Diploma course or its equivalent with experience of 02 years in operation and maintenance of sophisticated equipments from a recognized institute/organization.
For Senior Technical Officer : B.V.Sc. & AH with 55 % marks from a recognised university/institute along with registration with VCI. MBBS with 55 % marks from a recognised university /institute along with registration with MCI.
For Scientist : Ph.D. (awarded / thesis submitted) in Agriculture (Agronomy) / Biotechnology (Environmental biotechnology), Chemistry/ Chemical Sciences (Xray Crystallography), Pharmacology/ Pharmacy. M.E./M.Tech. in Chemical or Allied Engineering Subject with B.E./B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering.
For Principal Scientist : Ph.D. in Chemistry / Chemical Sciences / Polymer Science/ Petroleum Technology/ Chemical Engineering with 3 years’ Post Doctoral Research/ Industry experience in polymer/ petroleum /natural gas/coal processing from a recognized institute/ organization
Selection Process:
Candidates will be selected on the basis of performance in skill Test and Interview conducted by National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli.
Pay Scale :
- Rs 9300-34800 & Grade Pay: Rs 4200 for post 1.
- Rs 15600-39100 & Grade Pay: Rs 5400 for post 2.
- Rs 15600-39100 & Grade Pay: Rs 6600 for post 3.
- Rs. 37400-67000 & Grade Pay: Rs 8700 for post 4.

Candidates have to pay a crossed Demand Draft for Rs.100/ drawn on any nationalized bank and valid for at least 3 months in favour of “Director, CSIR-NEIST-Jorhat” payable at Jorhat. The following details must be filled up on back side of Demand Draft (i) Candidate’s Name, (ii) Candidate’s Category, (iii) Post Code Applied For. The Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH/Women/CSIR Employees/Abroad Candidates category are exempted from submission of application fee.
